Here’s an excerpt from a message we receive on our myspace page shortly after the YS conference in Sacramento that we led worship at this last weekend. It was an inspiring/moving time of worship. Anyways, here’s one person’s comments on the weekend, and more specifically the evening session on Sunday night.
“About three thousand youth workers gathered together for worship during a “general session” in the main hall… we just heard an incredible word from the oldest and most passionate youth worker at this convention. His name is Tony Campolo, and he is in his 70’s. I cant even begin to describe the impact his words carried into the silence of our hearts… into my heart… into my silence. After Tony, a group named Starfield came out onto the stage… they began to lead this massive audience of youth workers into worship… to worship the VERY REASON, the same DIVINE ENTITY who has called us to serve the youth of our generation. When WE began to worship, I’m sure Daddy was smiling… I’m sure He was especially fond of this moment. WE were all so very different… from the color of our skin, culture, geographical location – to the version of Christianity we stuck to… we were all so different it was almost funny…almost sad… almost tragic that until this moment we weren’t able to worship Him in harmony – like ONE body… like ONE bride. This time God didn’t need a welcoming or a special invitation… He was already there… and we knew it… we already desired Him, we already belonged to Him… and He knew it. I stood shoulder-to-should with young men and women I have never met before, and what was most fascinating is that we didn’t need to know each other… there existed an evident unity… it was as though we were all of ONE Spirit. “
The tour continues on, and we are humbled and thankful that God is moving and breathing through what we do. It is humbling and exciting. Please continue to uphold the tour, and the unity of those involved, in prayer. - Jon.

Starfield thank you so much for leading us in worship at NYWC Sacramento. I honestly hadn’t really heard much of your music before. I was extremely humbled and in awe. Thank you for your genuiness and not making me feel like it was a “show.” Thank you for pointing us toward the One in whose name we gathered. It was so freeing to worship openly after hearing Tony Compolo speak. Like Tony said, “We’re going to have to trust the Lord.” I’m so blessed by the hope we have in Christ…all of this junk is only temporary! Thank you for being a vessel and a blessing! Much love! PS: when are you coming to Oregon?! We’d love to see you here!

There’s something about this writing, which is truly inspired by the Lord to reach out to everyone. Even though, I wasn’t there…I was.
…I think that was the point of the Lord =)

Hey guys
I have a question for you guys. How do you know that the people don´t just love your music and have a great evening. How do you know that god works through your music? I really like your music but I couldn´t help asking myself the same question over and over again.

Truly, your music is really amazing. It is really heart-warming, it carries people deep into God’s presence. I REALLY repented myself after hearing your song “alive in this moment” one night, it was like God used that one song to open my eyes to a lot of things i had never realized. I really love your music, the lyrics are so powerful, and true.
thank you guys for all you do! ♥

i was at this worship session and this is a most awesome description of the experience. God was truly present in that place and the spirit of worship that filled my heart was intense. we left that night different than when we came in. even though it was the spirit that made the evening, i will say thanks for your part in that evening. the blessings from that night were truly overflowing.
