Hello all. I have been absent from the ‘blog’ thing as it has been an interesting month - one filled with much thought and reflection. Since the accident in Abbotsford, I had someone close to me pass away and the combination of the 2 has left me asking some difficult questions. I am left re-evaluating life, relationships, priorities and where God is in all of these things. In this place I feel broken and humbled, which leaves me ever dependent on God and his promise of faithfulness. This last weeknd, I had the privilege to travel with my wife to Edmonton, AB to visit family and to play with worship leader Vicky Beeching. I really appreciate Vicky’s heart as a worship leader and her message about the faithfulness of a God the same yesterday and today. He is faithful when I am not and he is merciful when I am far from it. In a time when I feel like the waves have tossed me around a bit the unchanging, loving nature of my Father gives me a sense of peace. A quote by John Piper to think about - “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”. Right now I’m continually asking myself if I can truly say I find my worth and satisfaction in who I am as a child of God. I guess I’m just realizing that without God at the centre of every part of my life, things lose meaning… Gordie.

Hey Starfield,
How’s it going? I REALLY hope you guys come back to Central Heights when it’s repaired! I heard about you guys coming back to do the concert that was cancelled ( that’s great!), I really wish I could see you guys perform again, but I’m going to be spending 2 weeks in California and it will be the week you guys are here playing on June 7th. Hi Gordie, I want to share something to you. This is a piece of inspiring words written in my bible. I don’t know exactly when and where I wrote it on my bible but I know it was of the words of a pastor giving the preaching for one of the Sunday services I attended at. It says, “God knows what’s going on in every detail of our life and He will do whatever it takes to bring us to the place where we are so desperate for Him and Him alone.”
I read this whenever I go through some questions in my life and whenever I read that, I feel blessed. It is truly what God wants from us, to be “beautifully broken” and in that way we acknowledge all power and strength in him.
His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

I feel like I am in a similar place as you right now. I’ve been having family issues, money issues, engagement issues, college issues, you name it, lately I have had an issue with it!!
Hang in there. Trust the Lord. We do not have to know what He has in store, we just have to know that He knows best. He wants the best for you. From glory to glory he’s changing us…shaping us into the people he wants us to be.
I wake up every morning, and I try so hard to put on my worship music and to give Him thanks and praise. He knows what is going on, and He loves us!!

If God always in spite of all goes to always make faithful and his promises it is going them to fulfill so that a good God but that that is a good friend who fulfills his promises and for that reason so much is wanted to him to so that it is very good

Well you know. God is in control through everything..i also learned that this year. Cause there were trials in my life that broken me down. but with God’s graceful hand he pulled me back up.
since the Abbotsford accident i was also there. and i’ve been praying for you guys ever since and still am.

I struggle with meaning in my life, also, a lot of the time. Right now, my life is great, and I’m very blessed. VERY blessed. But I’m unsure, and a little scared, that this prosperity will end. And it’s SO hard to give it to God, but I will.
I can’t remember when, but one day I pleaded God to let me keep my stepdad, the one man who has really invested into my childhood and been a dad to me. I was so scared that I would be stranded and alone without his support on our family. And 7 months ago, he left the family. I was crushed. Absolutely crushed. And yes, I was scared and stricken with grief, but I was in no way alone.
I’m still here. I’m still functional, and I’m still God’s girl. What I’ve learned is that HE is always here, even if the ones I love most are not.

Very true. Whatever we may have in this life, it is all meaningless without God and His presence. That’s something I’ve been having to realize too. I’ll be praying for you guys!
